Malta Paintball Opens the 2026 CPPS Season with Eighth Place

Malta Paintball began its 2026 Central Premier Paintball Series campaign with an eighth-place finish among 20 teams in Division 5.

The opening event took place in Penkridge, Staffordshire, with Division 5 competing on Sunday 8 March. Malta earned 68 championship points, providing a solid starting point for another season of international competition.

Three victories to start the day

Malta opened the preliminary stage with three consecutive wins, beating Turks Old Gits and SBOS by 5 to 2, followed by a 5 to 3 victory against SBOS Hatchlings.

Defeats against Psycho Pimps Green and Fat Freddys Cat followed before a tightly contested match against Riptide. The published score was 4 to 4, with the official results awarding the match points to Malta.

We then secured further victories against Bad Touch Inglorious and Walking Dead, before losing our final preliminary match to East Coast Syndicates.

Facing Manchester Rush in the finals

In the finals stage, Malta faced Manchester Rush and finished with a 2 to 5 defeat. The result placed Malta eighth overall at the event.

Across ten matches, Malta recorded five outright wins and received the match points from the level-scoring game against Riptide. It was an encouraging opening round, with useful experience to carry into the rest of the season.

Building through regular competition

The CPPS gives Malta Paintball opportunities to compete against established teams, assess our progress and identify what needs attention in training.

Returning for another season also means continuing the commitment required to compete overseas. Travel, accommodation, equipment and player availability all need to come together before the team reaches the field.

Thank you to the players, friends, families and supporters who helped make our opening event possible. That support allows us to keep gaining experience and bring it back to the growing paintball community in Malta and Gozo.

More opportunities to get involved

Our international campaign forms part of Malta Paintball’s wider work to develop competitive paintball locally. We want more people to have opportunities to learn, train and eventually take part in tournaments themselves.

Whether you already play or are interested in trying competitive paintball for the first time, contact Malta Paintball to find out how to get involved. We also welcome people interested in refereeing, volunteering and helping the organisation grow.
