A pathway into paintball
Malta Paintball is working to build a strong community of people who play regularly. We want to make it easier for people to try the sport, learn the basics and find a way to take part, whether they want to play socially or work towards competition.
You do not need previous paintball experience. If you have played paintball, airsoft or another sport, or have never played before but would like to try, get in touch about an introduction session.
Start with the basics
Our introduction sessions give new players a chance to learn how paintball works, understand the equipment and safety rules, and try the game with support from experienced players.
We are already meeting with new players and helping them get started. Equipment and coaching are available to support people who are new to the sport. From there, players can continue learning through practice and decide whether they want to play socially, train regularly or work towards competitive paintball.
Regular training and tournament practice
Regular practice is central to developing players and teams. Malta Paintball is working to establish training grounds where members can practise consistently and prepare for competition.
Malta Paintball members have secured a tournament-style Sup’Air field. We are working on the grounds needed to use it for local training. Our aim is to practise on field layouts that meet international tournament standards, including layouts used at upcoming competitions where available.
Coaching and development
Players develop through regular practice, support from experienced teammates and coaching. We plan to bring professional players and coaches from overseas to Malta for clinics, giving local players the chance to learn from people with experience at the highest levels of the sport.
As the program develops, we want to offer players opportunities to build skills step by step, from learning how to move and communicate on the field to preparing for tournament play.
From first session to competition
There is no single route through the sport. Some people may prefer to play socially, while others may want to join a regular training group or compete in local and international events.
As Malta Paintball grows the player community and forms new local teams, we aim to give developing players a pathway into competitive teams and, for those who are eligible and ready, the National Team. Read more about international representation on our [National Team & Nations Cup] page.
