Malta Paintball Continues Its Season at CPPS Event 2

Malta Paintball returned to Penkridge, Staffordshire, for Event 2 of the 2026 Central Premier Paintball Series, held over the weekend of 9 and 10 May.

Competing in Division 5 on Saturday 9 May, Malta finished twelfth, earning 56 championship points. That brought our season total to 124 points after the opening two rounds.

Three wins and some close contests

Malta recorded preliminary victories against APOC, Riptide and Dyehard. A 5 to 1 win over APOC and a 5 to 0 result against Riptide were followed by a narrow 5 to 4 victory over Dyehard.

The preliminary schedule also included a bye, recorded separately in the official results as a 5 to 0 score in Malta’s favour.

Two other matches went down to a single point, with Malta losing 4 to 5 against both SBOS Hatchlings and Kezbands. Further defeats came against NPF Misfits, Norfolk Chaos and Turks Old Gits.

In the finals stage, Malta faced Fat Freddys Cat, finishing with a 3 to 5 defeat. Across the event, we recorded three wins from nine matches played, alongside the bye.

Experience to bring back into training

The close results gave us plenty to reflect on. Winning against Dyehard showed we could finish a tight match, while the narrow defeats against SBOS Hatchlings and Kezbands highlighted opportunities to turn competitive performances into more wins.

For our developing programme, regular CPPS participation provides valuable time on the field against established teams. It also helps us identify what needs attention in training, from communication and coordination to making decisions under pressure.

Travelling from Malta and Gozo to compete requires a considerable commitment from players. Each event adds to the experience within our community and helps us build a stronger foundation for future teams.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the trip possible, including the players, friends, families and supporters who continue to back Malta Paintball’s international campaign.

Growing competitive paintball in Malta

Our CPPS season forms part of a wider effort to create more opportunities for people in Malta and Gozo to participate in competitive paintball.

We want to help more players learn the sport, train regularly and gain tournament experience. Whether you have played before or are interested in trying competitive paintball for the first time, contact Malta Paintball to find out how to get involved.

We also welcome people interested in refereeing, volunteering and supporting the organisation.
