Malta and Sicily Return for CPPS Event 2

Players from Malta and Sicily returned to the United Kingdom as 181 Lo Spazio for Event 2 of the 2025 Central Premier Paintball Series.

Competing in Division 4 on Saturday 17 May in Penkridge, Staffordshire, the combined squad made its second CPPS appearance of the season. The event continued the partnership between the two island communities and provided another opportunity to gain international tournament experience.

A victory against Team Speed Reapers

181 Lo Spazio faced UK Redskins, Devils Advocates, Team Speed Reapers and RSK in the preliminary stage.

The team began with a 0 to 3 defeat against UK Redskins, followed by a 0 to 2 loss against Devils Advocates. A 3 to 0 victory over Team Speed Reapers then gave the squad its first match win of the event.

The final preliminary match ended in a 1 to 3 defeat against RSK, leaving 181 Lo Spazio with one win from four matches.

The victory against Team Speed Reapers was a positive result in a challenging round. Across the other games, the squad gained further experience against established Division 4 opponents and more to work on before returning in July.

Building experience together

Playing as 181 Lo Spazio gave Malta-based players the opportunity to compete alongside Sicilian teammates, bringing the neighbouring paintball communities together on the same field.

The partnership helped create opportunities for international competition while the Maltese competitive scene was still developing. Each trip added to the players’ experience of tournament preparation, teamwork and performing under pressure.

Competing overseas also required a substantial commitment beyond the matches themselves. Organising travel, accommodation and equipment was part of the effort needed to get the squad to the UK.

Thank you to our Sicilian teammates, the players who made the journey, and the friends and families who supported them.

Looking ahead to July

After the opening two events, the squad’s next CPPS appearance would be Event 3 on 5 July. May provided another round of experience to carry into that final outing of the team’s 2025 campaign.

For the Malta-based players, these opportunities helped build the practical tournament experience that would contribute to Malta Paintball’s continued development.
