Malta and Sicily Begin Their 2025 CPPS Campaign

Players from Malta and Sicily came together as 181 Lo Spazio for the opening event of the 2025 Central Premier Paintball Series in Penkridge, Staffordshire.

Competing in Division 4 in March, the combined squad began a campaign that would take them to three CPPS events during the season. For the Malta-based players, joining their Sicilian teammates provided an opportunity to gain international tournament experience and build connections between the neighbouring paintball communities.

Two draws in the opening round

181 Lo Spazio faced Turks, Kezbands, Team Speed Reapers and RSK in the preliminary stage.

The team opened with a 0 to 3 defeat against Turks, followed by a 1 to 3 loss against Kezbands. The remaining matches produced two draws: 1 to 1 against Team Speed Reapers and 2 to 2 against RSK.

That left the squad with two draws and two defeats from four matches. Although the opening round ended without a match victory, the team scored against three of its four opponents and earned match points from both draws.

Starting a shared campaign

The partnership with 181 Lo Spazio gave players from Malta the opportunity to compete alongside a Sicilian squad in the UK tournament scene.

Playing together meant developing communication and coordination within a combined lineup while facing established Division 4 opponents. The opening event provided a starting point for that work and experience to carry into the next round.

For a developing competitive paintball community, attending tournaments also helps players understand what is required beyond individual skills. Preparing equipment, organising travel and working together through a full day of competition are all part of building a team.

Thank you to our Sicilian teammates and to the friends, families and supporters who helped make the trip possible.

The first of three appearances

The March event began 181 Lo Spazio’s 2025 CPPS campaign. The combined squad would return for Event 2 in May and Event 3 in July, continuing to gain experience through international competition.

For the Malta-based players, those appearances helped build the tournament experience that would support Malta Paintball’s continued development.
