Malta Paintball Continues Its CPPS Campaign at Round 4

Malta Paintball returned to Penkridge, Staffordshire, for the fourth round of the 2026 Central Premier Paintball Series, held over the weekend of 15 and 16 August.

Playing in Division 5 on Saturday 15 August, Malta recorded six wins across 14 matches, finishing tenth among the 15 participating teams. The result added 60 points to our season total, leaving Malta eighth in the Division 5 championship standings with 248 points after four rounds.

Six wins and two narrow defeats

Malta secured victories against SBOS Hatchlings, UK Redskins Mohawks, Walking Dead, East Coast Syndicates, Bad Touch Inglorious and Fat Freddys Clear Brew.

The wins included a 5 to 0 result against Walking Dead and a close 5 to 4 victory over East Coast Syndicates. We also came within one point of APOC and Manchester Rush, losing both matches 4 to 5.

Other defeats came against NPF Misfits, Fat Freddys Cat, Norfolk Chaos, Staffordshire Vipers, Dyehard and Riptide 2.0. Together, the results provided another useful measure of our progress and the consistency needed to move up the table.

Keeping Malta on the field

Competing overseas remains a significant commitment for a small organisation. Travel, player availability and the cost of attending events all affect our ability to field a squad.

For Round 4, we were unable to bring our full Malta-based lineup and received support from UK-based players who helped us continue the campaign. Thank you to everyone who stepped in and contributed to the team.

Regular CPPS participation gives our players opportunities to compete against established teams and gain experience that has been difficult to replicate at home. Each event also gives us practical lessons to bring back into training, from communication and teamwork to making better decisions under pressure.

New uniforms ahead of the Nations Cup

The weekend also marked the competitive debut of our new national uniforms, featuring Malta’s red and white colours and the Maltese cross.

Produced by Anthrax Paintball with the support of VisitMalta, the uniforms were prepared ahead of our first UPBF World Championship Nations Cup appearance in Dreux, France, in September.

Thank you to Anthrax Paintball for getting the uniforms to us on time, to VisitMalta for their support, and to the friends and families who continue to help us train, travel and compete.

Building towards the next season

Our CPPS campaign forms part of a wider effort to grow competitive paintball in Malta and Gozo. We want more players to have the opportunity to train regularly, develop their skills and take part in international tournaments.

Planning is underway for 2027, including opportunities for newer players and increased women’s participation. If you are interested in joining Malta Paintball as a player, referee or volunteer, reach out and help us build the next season.
