Chris Cioffi Competes at the 2021 NXL European Championships in France

Malta’s Chris Cioffi competed with HBI How Big is Paintball 3 in the Amateur 3-Man division at the 2021 NXL European Championships in Chantilly, France.

The championships took place at the Hippodrome de Chantilly from 2 to 5 September, with the three-player competition held on Sunday 5 September.

Two victories in the preliminary stage

HBI opened their campaign with a victory against C.O.P. 60, before defeats against Consilium Dei Zuerich 6, Mac Dev 3man, Big Shot 3 man and Parma Rangers 3Man.

The team secured a second win against Consilium Dei Zuerich 7, then lost their remaining matches against King Size 3man and Bad Belgium Bastard.

HBI finished the preliminary stage with two wins from eight matches and placed seventh out of nine teams, ending their campaign before the knockout rounds.

Strong opposition

The opponents HBI faced included all four teams that ultimately occupied the top four places. Mac Dev 3man won the division, followed by King Size 3man, Bad Belgium Bastard and Parma Rangers 3Man.

It was a challenging day of competition, with two victories giving Chris and his teammates positive results alongside the tougher matches.

A Maltese player on the European stage

Chris’s participation brought a Maltese presence to the Amateur 3-Man competition through an international HBI squad.

Playing alongside teammates from abroad provides opportunities for Malta’s players to gain tournament experience and build connections beyond the local paintball community.

Thank you to Chris, his teammates and everyone who helped make his participation in France possible.
